About
Doctrine and Daggers
This project was born out of a simple problem: there was very little music that reflected what we actually believe.
Much of what is called modern Christian music is written to cast the widest net possible. In doing so, it often drifts into a kind of practical agnosticism — where God is referenced, but not clearly revealed as He is in Scripture. Doctrine and Daggers exists to fill that gap.
Our work is shaped by historic Protestant and Reformed theology — not as a backdrop, but as the framework through which everything is written, said, and produced. We hold to the five solas and affirm the doctrines of grace: that salvation originates in God, not in man; that Christ’s work actually secures redemption; and that those whom He saves, He keeps. Scripture speaks with clarity and authority. What God has revealed is not ours to reshape.
Our perspective is Reformed Baptist, while drawing deeply from the broader Reformed tradition — indebted to those who have faithfully handled the text across both Baptist and Presbyterian lines where they are consistent with Scripture.
Even the name reflects this conviction. Scripture describes the Word of God as living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). Doctrine, rightly handled, is not passive. It exposes, presses in, and pierces. It does not leave a man unchanged.
The Church has been given a commission: to go into all the world and preach the gospel. That task is not reserved for pulpits alone. This work exists in that stream.
We are not aiming for the widest reach, but for faithfulness.
Truth builds. Truth cuts. Both are necessary.
